About the Event

For the first time ever in the Salt Lake Valley, Global Telangana Association - Utah Chapter is bringing the community together to celebrate Dasara. Also known as Vijayadashami, the festival marks the triumph of good over evil - the day Lord Rama defeated the demon king Ravana. Join us for a symbolic enactment of Ravana's defeat, a lively cultural program, and dinner shared as one community.

What is Dasara?

Dasara (Vijayadashami) is one of the most significant Hindu festivals, observed on the tenth day of Navratri. It commemorates Lord Rama's victory over the ten-headed demon king Ravana, symbolizing the triumph of righteousness over evil. Communities traditionally mark the occasion with the burning of Ravana's effigy, cultural performances, and festive gatherings with family and friends.
